Issues

As a representative for all the people, Steve will work to:

• Ensure a living wage for all working americans.

• End the illegal occupation of Iraq.

• End government sanctioned torture & "extraordinary rendition."

• Reform the electoral process by establishing national voting standards that include publicly financed campaigns, verifiable ballots, and Instant Run-off Voting to ensure that every elected candidate receives a majority of the votes cast.

• Adopt single-payer universal, healthcare coverage for all US citizens that includes substance abuse treatment and mental health parity.

• Reverse global climate change by establishing tax & investment incentives to reward individuals and corporations that convert to renewable, sustainable energy resources.

• Establish a federal plan & uniform standards for recycling.

• Reform obsolete and repressive drug laws which unfairly target the poor & minorities, fill our prisons, & drain our treasuries.

• Support indictments against current and former Bush administration officials on war crimes charges.

• Restore the balance of power between the three branches of government.

• Require licensed broadcast media to provide free air time to all bona-fide candidates for public office.

• Restore the Bill of Rights.

• Restore fiscal responsibility and accountability.

• Promote tax and economic equity.

• Repeal the currently legal recognition of corporations as "persons."

• Protect women’s reproductive rights.

• Recognize "marriage" as a religious ceremony.

• Support civil union for all couples requesting legal recognition of their commitment.

• Support fair trade policies.
